Miniature painting is a traditional style of painting. It is a detailed art form and refers to painting or working in miniature. Miniature painting is extremely delicate in nature and despite the modernization, squirrelās hair is used to make the brushes suitable for miniature painting. The earliest findings of miniature painting can be found in the 7th century.
To make this art form popular among art lovers, Rooftp[ brought together a Miniature Painting Workshop with expert artist Ruchi Gupta.
About the artist
Ruchi Gupta is a fine artist who has an Instagram account and her own YouTube channel by the name of Kalayogya by Ruchi Gupta. She has been practising fine arts for the past 8 years and loves Indian art and modern art forms.
The Workshop began
The workshop started off with an introduction of Ruchi and her journey as an artist. Ruchi thanked the hosts of the session and heartily welcomed all the attendees.
Ruchi explained to everybody about miniature paintings on jewellery and how it is popular in the state of Rajasthan, particularly in the cities of Jaipur and Jodhpur. She drew a sketch of a jhumka and made the outline with 3d lining and applied golden colour to it. Gupta first used orange colour, followed by green and yellow colour and drew outlines for design and decorative purposes.
Towards the end of the workshop
As the workshop progressed, all the attendees showcased the miniature paintings that they had co-created during the session. Ruchi was delighted to see the effort and praised all the artworks.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.Ā
