Manjusha art is also called scroll painting. It is the only Indian art form that has sequential representation. Manjusha art is a folk art of Bhagalpur, Bihar, and goes back to the 7th Century. Manjusha art has the religious significance of Bishari Puja and is restricted to use with only three colours which are pink, green, and yellow.
To make this art form popular among the masses, The Circle Community conducted an engaging workshop on culturally rich art with Anushree Dutta.
About The Artist
Anushree is a designer and passionate folk artist who is based in Germany. Her love for folk arts is what keeps her closely connected to her Indian roots. She has started her venture named Folk Trend in order to promote Indian cultural arts.
The Workshop Began
The workshop began with a brief introduction of Anushree and her journey into the world of art. Anushree started explaining the history of Manjusha art and narrated the mythological story of Bishari. She showed one of her creations which was the Shivling Manjusha art and started making the border for the Shivling with green colour. She continued beautifully creating the designs and colouring the background in pink and yellow.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
All the participants had a lovely time learning about Manjusha art and creating their own artworks of various designs which were aesthetically pleasing and visually beautiful. Anushree was delighted to see all the artworks and appreciated the participants.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
