Mandala, the word, is derived from Sanskrit, an ancient Indian language. It literally means ‘circle’ and represents anything that is round or circular. In the modern era, the circular repetition of shapes within a design is known as a mandala. A mandala is a symbol known to represent spiritual awakening.
To help art lovers unwind and de-stress with mandalas, The Circle Community conducted a workshop on Mandalas in Shapes with expert artist Subhasmita Sahoo.
About The Artist
Subhasmita creates mandala art with her sister Subhashree. She makes bookmarks, frames, coasters and conducts workshops.
The Workshop Began
The workshop began with the hosts greeting Subhasmita and introducing her to the participants. Subhasmita personally welcomed all the participants and started making the mandala. She started sketching various shapes and techniques. She drew some designs inside the mandala and filled them with black colour, which looked attractive and artistic. She showed all her artworks to the attendees.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
All the attendees beautifully created their own version of the mandala in shape. Subhasmita was delighted to see all the artworks. The host appreciated all the attendees for their artwork and thanked Subhasmita.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
