Hatching Techniques Workshop with Suman Panwar

Hatching Techniques

Hatching (nature in the French language) is an artistic technique that is used to create tonal and shading effects by drawing and sketching. The technique for hatching is done with a series of thin parallel lines that give the appearance of shadow in many degrees. Artists often apply hatching lines quickly.

Rooftop conducted a Hatching Techniques Workshop with expert artist Suman Panwar.

About The Artist

Suman hails from Haryana and works as a professor. Alongside her career, she is passionate about art. She has been working as an artist for the past two years.

The Workshop Began

Suman greeted the participants and started teaching different tonal Hatching Techniques in order to give a 3D effect. She guided the participants and shared tips on working for a hatching technique and explained a sampling technique for sketching a cup. She started drawing sketches of a landscape and sketched the trees, house, fence, and road. Panwar showed one of her sketches when she started working on a hatchet in her earlier days.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

All the attendees showed their hatching landscape sketches to Suman. She appreciated all the portraits and thanked the participants for creating such beautiful artwork. She also showed one of her previous creations to the attendees. All the participants appreciated Suman‘s artwork. The host thanked all the participants and Suman for conducting the workshop.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
