Hand building is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and simple tools. It’s said that it’s the hand of god that can create shape through mear clay.
To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves Hand Pottery Workshop and invited Sonam Mishra.
Sonam Mishra is an artist by passion. She has worked as an Assistant Professor in engineering colleges but art is something that she has always cherished. Also, she has taught more than 1000 students (in person & online) over the years. She has always believed that each and every soul on earth is artistic, only their art form is different. Let’s join her in exploring different dimensions of art.
Hand Pottery Workshop Began
We started with the introduction of artists and artists interacted with everyone regarding the art form. Artist took the clay and kept it on the rough surface i.e the bubble sheet to give imprint on the soil and gave it a shape like a pot. We can also use the garden soil to make a pot out of it and it looks beautiful and natural, artist instructed to use any soil for the art.
Artist gave points to remember while doing the art, Never put the clay in the oven until it dries and then she taught us the technique of coiling.
Do not over dry the color and she instructed to not paint the complete hand pottery.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
Artists gave all the beginner learnings to hand pottery and gave so much knowledge about creating different textures, temperature to soil to turn into pot, which was enjoyed and appreciated by the attendees. We need not to protect if we are using
She displayed her other artworks and motivated people to create magic with Digital illustration. The session was informative and illustrations created were quirky and quick.
The attendees seemed immersed in the workshop and thanked Rajasthan Studio as well as the artist for introducing them to such a unique art form.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
