Faux Calligraphy Workshop With Angelus Amy Mondal

Faux Calligraphy Workshop

Faux Calligraphy Workshop: Traditional calligraphy plays with the contrast between thin and thick strokes within letters. The faux Calligraphy technique uses simple fine liners to imitate the effect of calligraphy.  Rooftop curated a Faux Calligraphy Workshop with Angelus Amy Mondal. She is a self-taught hand lettering and Calligraphy Artist from Kolkata and a graphic designer. She has conducted over 150+ online and offline works and has her own design collection of cards, postcards and stationery.

The Faux Calligraphy Workshop Began

Amy started the faux calligraphy workshop by teaching the basics of calligraphy. Slowly and steadily, she shared insights about the kinds of strokes, lines and curves used in faux calligraphy. All 87 participants learned a lot of information about calligraphy as well as faux calligraphy. Amy explained the different techniques of faux calligraphy while drawing them herself. The enthusiastic participants took notes and worked along with Amy.  Amy responded to all their questions simultaneously. The participants worked along with her and tried their best to make their letters look exactly the same as Amyā€™s.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Despite the limited time frame, Amy successfully shared all the information regarding faux calligraphy and its techniques. The participants grasped all the knowledge about this new technique right from the convenience of their homes. Even though the participants were from different parts of the country and belonged to other age groups, their love for new kinds of art forms united them. At the end of the workshop, they showed their calligraphy work which made Amy awestruck!

Learning, imparting, connecting and staying creative is our motto at Rooftopā€™s the reason why we keep organizing various art workshops every day.
