Fabric painting

“Life’s too short to wear normal clothes”. What we wear completely represents what we think. Fabric painting is all about making one’s wearables more interesting by adding a slight charm of art onto them. By using beautiful designs and textures, one can create amazing wonders. Fabric painting is a new trend.

To enlighten you about the art of fabric painting, Rooftop curated an amazing session with expert artist Riya Rashmi.

About The Artist

Riya has been practising art from a very young age and has been exploring its various types through the years. She currently resides in Bengaluru and works with an MNC. Fabric painting has been her motivation for a long time and she loves the quirky art form. Initially, she started by painting on the wastes from her basements but eventually got drawn towards painting on wearables. For her, making clothes look more beautiful by giving them a touch of art is like adding a dash of confidence to one’s appearance and behaviour.

The Workshop Began

The workshop began with a brief introduction of Riya and her experiences as an artist. Riya greeted and expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards the attendees and the hosts. She then started demonstrating the procedure and explained each step in a detailed manner. She also shared some tips and tricks that she learned in her journey of art. The attendees too were very intrigued and engrossed in the process as they got to know a lot of new and exciting things about the particular art form. The session was very engaging and delightful for the participants, which was evident from their gleeful faces.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

As the session progressed towards completion, the attendees were able to make the art pieces that they presented to Riya for feedback, who found each of them very beautiful and full of effort. The participants were delighted to be a part of the workshop and expressed their gratitude toward Riya and Rooftop.

The attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to various age groups but their love for art brought them together on one single platform.
