Fabric jewellery is a piece of modern jewellery that has been around for several years and is still a popular accessory among young women. It has a traditional yet modern look. Fabric jewellery is a perfect gift for friends who are nature lovers and who love ethnic yet modern jewellery.
To learn more about this art form, The Rooftop Community conducted a fabric jewellery workshop with artist Pragya Yagnik.
About The Artist
Pragya is a passionate artist and loves making jewellery and nameplates. She started this venture with her friend, who then moved ahead due to her commitments and continued her business with her mother. Yagnik is based in Delhi and takes customized orders.
The Workshop Began
The workshop began with an introduction of Pragya and her experiences and journey in the world of art. Pragya greeted the attendees and shared her inspiring artistic and entrepreneurial journey.
Pragya taught jewellery making from scratch and started off with a simple design. She first painted shades of pink, blue, and yellow and made the outline of the designs with black colour, adding beauty to the design. She took a thread and added beads to the necklace and explained how one can create the jewellery for any special occasion. She also cleared the attendees’ doubts from time and time and motivated them to co-create with her.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
As the workshop progressed, the attendees were engrossed in creating their own works of art. Towards the end, they showcased their artworks to Pragya, who appreciated them and also provided helpful tips to make them better. The attendees were delighted to learn a new art form and thanked Pragya for her effort and dedication.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Rooftop Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
