Eco-Friendly Ganesha Idol Making Workshop with Sonali Singh

Eco-Friendly Ganesha Idol Making Workshop with Sonali Singh

Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most celebrated festivals in  Mumbai Maharashtra, especially as it honours the birth of our most favourite and beloved elephant-headed deity Lord Ganesha. idols are made up of plaster of Paris that cause immense harm to our environment. Almost 2,033 metric tonnes of waste is left behind after the Ganpati immersion. Eco-friendly Ganpati idols can be made of shadu, paper mache, cow dung, and even made at home. We must encourage our kids towards an eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi to promote the idea of ecological balance and to reduce pollution as they are the future of the nation.

The Rooftop Community brings together an Eco-friendly Ganesha Idol-making workshop with Sonali Singh.

About The Artist

Sonali had a passion for the arts since her childhood. She was into making artwork, painting and drawing is something she loved since she was a kid.

The Workshop Began

Sonali greeted all the participants and thanked the host for the lovely introduction. She first took the clay mold and started making the body of the Lord Ganesha clay and then went on to make the mukut and the head of Lord Ganesha and the trunk of the Lord. She concluded the Ganesh idol making by making the jewellery of Lord Ganesha.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Sonali made a beautiful Ganesha Idol with grey clay and gave it a smooth and finishing touch. All the participants appreciated her Ganesh Idol and showed her co-created Ganesha idol to Sonali. The host thanked Sonali for teaching to make an eco-friendly Ganesha for their Ganesh Chaturthi festivals.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Rooftop Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
