Dot Art Workshop with Shraddha Chanana

Dot Art

The defining criterion for a dot painting is the technique used – that it is produced by repeated imprints of a paint-covered brush, dotting stick or another implement onto the surface of the painting and that in doing so, there are recognisable ‘dot’ marks on the canvas. To give our Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rooftop curated a Dot Mandala Workshop and invited Shraddha Chanana.

She is the artist behind @my.meraki.moments which is a platform to share the beauty of some of her most soulful, passionate and joyous moments. She is a self-taught Dot art and Mandala artist and discovered her love for Dot Mandala last year. It has been a very gratifying journey since, with her art holding her hand and bringing a lot of calm, mindful and relaxing moments.

Dot Art Workshop Began

The workshop began with a brief introduction to Shraddha. Later she started with the Dot Mandala artwork and explained every step of the process. She also shared the essence and the therapeutic benefits of Dot Mandala art. Shraddha shared details about the different tools used and where the attendees can purchase them. The contrasting & vibrant colours used in the Art were astounding.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

At the end of the experience, all the attendees had managed to complete their dot art paintings within the time crunch. Everybody used their own unique colour combinations, and she was surprised to see the creativity. The attendees were excited to showcase their paintings to the camera. Shraddha looked at all the attendeesā€™ paintings and was very happy to see the bright colourful butterflies. Shraddha shared some useful tips and motivated all the attendees to keep learning and exploring. The overall experience was fun for all.

All the attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.Ā

On this note, hereā€™s us signing off until next time!
