Shri. Samdar Singh Khangarot Sagar, an internationally acclaimed artist from Rajasthan, was born in 1951 in Khandel near Jaipur into a Rajput family. Specialising in traditional tempera painting and being an expert in miniature painting and its history, he has won many state, national, and international awards while showcasing his work in countries like England, Japan, Italy, and Germany. With a diploma in painting and sculpture and a master's in painting, he transformed the Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy as its long-time secretary, launching landmark art projects. An experienced art teacher and active participant in art camps, he also experiments with watercolours, acrylics, mixed media, and murals in significant projects across India, including series on Indian forts, Kalidas, and his mythology-inspired 'Digpals' series, which earned him a Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
