About Maestro Course

The traditional art form of Mata ni Pachedi emerged about 400 years ago when the Vaghari community of Gujarat was denied entry into their local temples. The community members decided to paint their mother goddess with exquisite designs on cotton cloth and began praying to these paintings with great reverence. Shri Chandrakant Bhulabhai Chitara with his brothers, Shri Kiran Chitara and Shri Kirit Chitara shall take you through the historical background of the art form, their community, and their creative process, along with a step-by-step guide to making a Mata ni Pachedi artwork.
