CD Tea Light Holders Workshop With Yukta Pande

CD Tea Light Holder Workshop: There is a different kind of joy in recycling waste products and making something creative and beautiful out of them. With this thought in mind, Rooftop curated a Diwali Special CD Tea Light Holder Workshop and invited Yukta Pande. She is currently pursuing Interior Design from UID Ahmedabad. Exploring and learning different art forms gives a lot of happiness and enjoyment to Yukta. She is an enthusiastic artist and during the lockdown, she has been taking workshops on fluid art and paper quilling.

The CD Tea Light Holder Workshop Began

Yukta began the workshop by covering an old CD with canvas cloth. Then, taking a little mouldit mixture, she rolled thin slices and pasted them according to the outlined design. Very carefully, she used glue to paste the mouldit slices precisely, as all the 12 participants listened with grasped attention. After the petals and the leaves designs were complete, then she let it dry for sometime. Painting it with acrylic white colour, she used yellow, green and red to paint the petals and leaf design. The tea light holder looked more lively after getting painted. Next, she used some mirror embellishments to decorate further and give it a festive look. Adding a little detailing with golden paint, the CD tea light holder was ready.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

The curious attendees asked a few queries regarding the mouldit and the alternatives to it. Yukta also shared a few tips with the attendees such as using talcum powder to prevent the mouldit from sticking to the surface. By the end of the workshop, all the attendees had taken notes and were excited to recycle CDs into tea light holders for Diwali.

All the attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform.

Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
