Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Watercolor Painting Workshop With Farida Patel

Watercolor Painting Workshop

Watercolor Painting Workshop: Watercolor is an ancient form of painting in which colours are mixed with water on the brush to communicate a message through the canvas. Rooftop curated a Navratri Special Workshop on Watercolor Painting and invited Farida Patel to conduct a grey-colour theme workshop. Farida is a teacher by profession and also an artist by heart. She loves experimenting with different art forms and shares her knowledge with her students.

The Watercolour Painting Workshop Began

Farida began her workshop by drawing a mountain scenery on an A4 sheet. She suggested participants divide their canvas into three parts, sky, mountain and sea. To paint the sky, Farida followed the wet-on-wet technique of watercolour. She advised all 32 participants to be quick on their reflexes and paint before the paper gets dry. For colouring the mountain, she used the wet-on-dry technique and gave it a darker shade of grey. For the creation of the sea and reflection on the sea, Farida used the same process. Farida then used a hairdryer to dry her canvas and worked on the detailing of the mountain and trees.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Most of the participants painted along with Farida and also asked her several questions. Farida kindly answered these questions promptly. By the end of the workshop, participants grasped the knowledge and were pleased with the workshop. They flashed their watercolour painting on their screens.

Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
