Santhal Painting Workshop with Seema Bharadwaj

Santhal painting

India has many forms of folk art in India; our country consists of so many states, each of them carrying different cultural and traditional identities. Santhals are the third largest tribe in India and are known for their unique form of tribal paintings known as Santhal Tribal Paintings. The Santhal artists depict dancing, harvest, and daily activities of their life through attractive minimalist images and subtle colors. Nowadays, Santhal artists paint on canvases using acrylic for exhibitions and commercializing their artworks.

To make this art form popular, The Circle Community conducted a workshop on Santhal Painting with expert artist Seema Bharadwaj.

She continued painting the girl in orange color for her face and legs. She colored her clothes with yellow color, flowers in pink color and in the background in yellow.

Seema beautifully taught everybody to make Santhal paintings. The painting had beautiful colors and looked attractive and aesthetically pleasing. All the attendees showed their own co-creations of Santhal Painting. The host thanked Seema for sharing this beautiful art form.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
