Paint Tribal Art through Gond Art Workshop with Khushboo

Gond art workshop

Tribal art is often ceremonial or religious in nature. Tribal art is the visual arts and material culture of indigenous people. Before Post-Modernism emerged in the 1960s, art critics approached tribal arts from a purely formalist approach. Tribal arts have historically been collected by Western anthropologists, private collectors, and museums, particularly ethnographic and natural history museums. Gond paintings are a form of painting from folk and tribal art that is practised by one of the largest tribes in India with whom it shares its name. Gond comes from the Dravidian expression, Kond which means ‘the green mountain’.

The Workshop Began

Khushboo greeted all the participants and thanked the host for the lovely introduction. She started sketching the peacock on her canvas and the branches of the trees. She then continued to paint the peacock in blue colour and another half of the feathers in green and gave the peacock a finishing touch.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Khushboo made a colourful and artistic Gond art of peacock with colours such as blue, shades of orange, and maroon colour. She appreciated all the participants as they all showed their co-created artworks to Khushboo. The host thanked Khushboo for teaching this art form.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
