Stamp Printing Workshop

Stamp Printing Workshop: Stamp Printing is a method used to engrave or cut a surface onto a material. It is used to print with inks, paints or dyes on paper or fabric. To explain this unique printing technique, Rajasthan Studio curated a workshop on Stamp Printing and invited Priti Vats, who is an educationist by profession and an artist by heart. She aspires to educate each child through education and art. She also practices hand-carved Stamp Printing and linocut as a therapeutic art form.

The Stamp Printing Workshop Began

Priti began the session by explaining the types of stamp printing styles and was briefed about the required materials through a presentation. All the 35 attendees paid careful attention and some even made notes. Priti made it very easy for the attendees by dividing the experience into parts. First designing the stamp and drawing on foam, then engraved it with the pattern, cut it out and finally mounted it. All the attendees made colourful stamps alongside Priti.

Next, Priti demonstrated the printing of the stamp on paper. She also shared some tips regarding the consistency of the paint.  The curious participants bombarded Priti with several questions regarding the thickness of the foam and many more. Priti answered all their queries quite promptly and patiently while stamping other patterns. She suggested,

Using a flat surface with some padding is a must in stamp printing.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

She also shared some very useful tips for creating perfect stamps. The attendees made note of all the instructions and tried to implicate them. The attendees displayed their colourful stamps on the camera and successfully impressed Priti. In the end, Priti also shared her Stamp Printing journal to which all the attendees showered praises and some beautiful comments. It was a fun-filled and knowledgeable experience for all the participants.

The attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
