Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Pull String Art Workshop With Tanvi Jhanji

Pull string art with Tanvi Jhanji

Pull String is a fluid art form that creates various textures and patterns on paint. The movement of colours and their shades makes it a therapeutic art style. This art focuses on the beauty of simplicity. To learn more about this painting method, Rooftop conducted a Pull String Workshop with Tanvi Jhanji.

About The Artist

Tanvi helps transform any space through painting and other artistic skills that she mastered over the years including sketching, paper quilling, mandala, acrylic painting, madhubani, string art, abstract, and many more. She loves to explore new mediums and techniques of craft and loves to participate in every art form. Her creativity has no bounds when it comes to curating pieces that are unique to a person and place.

The Pull String Workshop Began

Tanvi proposed an idea to paint an elegant butterfly with pull string art. For this, she gathered things such as a canvas board, chain, and fluid acrylic paints. The first step was to pour white paint onto the canvas and spread it evenly with the help of a palette knife. She traced the body and wings roughly to have an estimate of the shape required.

She then poured dark blue dots on the borders of the wings and poured smaller dots of light blue beside them. Before beginning the string technique, she told everyone to make sure that the paint was not of thicker consistency. She used a chain and placed them on the outer layer of the dots, and pulling them upward she created a wing. This way she designed the rest of the butterfly with easy movements of the chain.

Towards The End Of The Pull String Workshop

Each of the attendees used a unique colour combination to create a ravishing butterfly for themselves. This workshop was a relaxing session and everyone enjoyed working on fluid art.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
