Every region and every state of India has a different art form that needs to be cherished and cultivated so that its essence isn’t lost in time. With westernized modes of development and technological advancement, we often forget that India’s culture has developed over thousands of years. Read on to know how Project Phad se Padh is taking the first step toward NEP 2020

Parallel paths: NEP 2020 and Project Phad se Padh

MSMS II Museum in collaboration with Rooftop, brings to its masses the project Phad se Padh which is focused on the celebration, promotion, and erudition of Indian arts and culture, aligning with the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The policy mentions how cultural awareness and expression are integral to a child’s development and can build a positive cultural identity and self-esteem. Furthermore, art is a significant medium to impart culture and are known to enhance the cognitive and creative abilities of individuals, contributing to their happiness. Imagine the tremendous impact it will have in nurturing a student’s well-being when cultural learning joins forces with textbook learning.

NEP 2020 ethos

The policy also mentions the reason why Indian art should be provided to students is to ensure their happiness, well-being, cognitive development, and acknowledgment of the cultural identity of the individuals. By using an unconventional and groundbreaking method of learning – through Phad paintings – Rooftop and MSMS II Museum are among the first brands to actually apply not only the objectives of NEP 2020 but to propagate Indian arts and culture among students.

All about Project Phad se Padh

Phad se Padh initiative encourages students to create traditional Phad paintings based on their course outline. The initiative has two main aspects to it: Firstly, it pursues a method to promulgate the 700-year-old art form of Phad painting, and secondly, it provides the students with an unorthodox method of learning, which will strengthen their cognitive and applied knowledge of what they are learning. Learning and knowledge acquisition are like flowing rivers – they are in abundance and always give their surroundings respite from the hustle and bustle of life with a promise of growth.
