Pointed Pen Calligraphy Workshop with  Shradha Sreedar

Pen calligraphy

Pointed pen calligraphy gets its name from the type of pen used in the art. The tool is divided into two parts, a pen holder which is the main piece one holds in their hand and the nib which can stop and that allows you to dip into ink. There are other types of metal nibs that can be used for calligraphy such as broad edge or round nib but in pointed pen calligraphy, the nib comes to a sharp point at the top therefore the name pointed pen. Pointed pen calligraphy is different from brush lettering because it uses a metal nib dipped into ink to write.

The Circle Community introduced the art of Pointed Pen Calligraphy with an interactive workshop with Shradha Sreedar.

The Workshop Began

The host welcomed Shradha. Shradha greeted all the participants and said she will be showing basic strokes and lowercase letters of the pointed pen calligraphy. She started teaching strokes and explained that one can start with thin strokes and go ahead with thick strokes. She also showcased the technique of writing the letters U, O, P and the rest of the letters from A to Z. She concluded the calligraphy by writing the name Bhavya.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Shradha showed her pen calligraphy beautifully. It was aesthetically pleasing. The host thanked the attendees and Shradha for sharing her knowledge about calligraphy.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Circle Community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
