Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Meditative Mandala Workshop By Aayushi Mehta

Mandalas are sacred circles that have long been used to facilitate meditation in the Indian and Tibetan religions of Hinduism and Buddhism. Many other religions, including Christianity and Taoism, have incorporated mandalas into their spiritual practices as well.Mandalas can also be used as a healing tool for meditation. Meditation itself has been shown to reduce stress, combat depression, reduce pain, and lower blood pressure. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special workshop and invited Aayushi Mehta.

Aayushi is a mandala artist and  conducts workshops for beginner’s and intermediate level. Being an artist by heart, it was difficult for her to stay away from it. She started following various mandala artists on Instagram, watched tutorials and started creating her own art. From mini mandalas to 6-7 interconnecting mandalas her  journey has been worth remembering. While working on mandalas, you mostly use the subconscious mind, giving rest to the conscious mind. Interestingly, people aged above 80 years also visit her workshop. Creating a mandala calms her down and helps her get closure. She’s working to reach out every art lover that she can.
