Mandala Art Workshop With Manali Pardeshi

Mandala with Manali Shailendrakumar Pardeshi

People describe Mandala art as a geometric symbol in both spiritual and traditional ways. There are many circular layers containing different patterns and each of them focuses on various aspects of life. The art form is lively and free-flowing, which attracts many people to it. To learn more about this meditative art, Rooftop conducted a workshop with Manali Pardeshi.

About The Artist

Manali believes that the mandala helps heal her mind and removes her daily life stress. Her artwork shows emotions and she likes the way it reflects the continuous circle of life. She has created a number of mandalas and doesn’t wish to stop any soon.

The Workshop Began

A mandala always has a focal point around which the designs are created. To make this grid, Manali drew circles and lines with proper measurement of angles. For a beginner, this step makes it easy to fill the circles with proportionate patterns. Before starting off, she taught some basic patterns to fill in, many of which were floral designs.

Mandala looks intricate but it’s just a congregation of a lot of simple things. Therefore, when put together, it looks like a much more complicated layout. Manali was determined to create a monochrome pattern but suggested that others can use a variety of colours to make a brighter mandala. She believes that the mandala is a very useful method to manage stress and everyone should try including it as an art therapy technique. Circle by circle, she filled the mandala with designs and presented a freehand yet draw as perfect as the impression of a picture.

Towards the End Of the Workshop

This art form is easy to outline for everyone and creates a calm environment. The attendees were extremely engrossed in fabricating their own unique mandalas.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
