Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Landscape Painting Workshop with Shruti Solanki

Landscape Painting orkshop

The landscape painting came into light in the 4th century in the East while in the western tradition landscape painting came into light post-Renaissance in the 16th century. The first landscape painting was around 1500BCE from Minoan art with no human figures. In the 17th century, the idle scenes were painted inspired from the landscape view of Arcadia in ancient Greece. Famous French artists of landscape paintings were Nicolas Poussin and Cloude Lorrain who spent their major lives in Italy. Rooftop curated a Landscape Painting Workshop with Shruti Solanki.

About The Artist

Shruti has been a passionate artist since her childhood. She keeps experimenting with various colour mediums.

The Landscape Painting Workshop Began

The workshop began with Shruti expressing her gratitude and appreciating the platform for providing such opportunity. She began drawing with a pencil dividing the paper into half. Shruti clarified about the colour scheme and brushes to be used. She started painting the sunset sky with hues of blue, pink and orange. Once she completed doing all the background shades, the detailing of water waves and little flowers made the landscape mesmerizing.

Towards The End Of The Landscape Painting Workshop

All the attendees showed their co-created art works.  It was interesting to note that each attendee added their own innovation. The beautiful landscape painting was well adopted by the attendees and they thanked the artists.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
