Henna Workshop By Rifha

Henna is a dye prepared from the henna tree, the mignonette tree, and the Egyptian privet, the sole species of the genus Lawsonia. Henna can also refer to the temporary body art resulting from the staining of the skin from the dyes. After henna stains reach their peak color, they hold for a few days, then gradually wear off by way of exfoliation, typically within one to three weeks. Henna has been used since antiquity in Egypt and the Kingdom of Kush to dye skin, hair and fingernails, as well as fabrics including silk, wool and leather. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special workshop and invited Rajshree Nedung.

Rifha Patel is a henna artist. As a child, henna art was a hobby but as she practised she realized that she possessed a real talent. With a lot of hard work and perseverance she has turned her passion into her profession.

Henna Workshop Began

Rajashree started the workshop by explaining about the different types of shapes involved such as swirls, humps, lines, dots, leaves etc. All the  attendees paid attention and noted all the key points.

She explained ways to control the tip of the henna cone, in order to control the flow henna. She taught the attendees to make different types of designs. She made sure that she was responding to all queries and questions.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Rifha explained all the different types of designs and inticacies in detail. She showed the attendees the  technique of drawing the outline of a hand and practicing the henna design inside it. She even displayed an artwork that she had created before. The attendees were very excited to showcase their work. The overall experience was very delightful and everyone was elated by the experience.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan Studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
