Folk Fusion Workshop With Jashlin

Creating art is a wonder. When we practise a certain art form, we feel enlightened and confident about ourselves. Such is the magic of art! But what happens if we mix two art forms? Well, it creates wonders that are completely unimaginable to us! Folk art is something that our ancestors have been practising and we have got a great legacy from them, so when fusing two ancient folk art forms, one has to be very careful with all the detailing and make sure that the authenticity of the original art forms is retained while creating something new out of it. To discover more about the rules and magic of folk fusion, Rooftop curated an outstanding workshop and invited a young and vibrant artist Jashlin to facilitate the session.

About The Artist

Jashlin is a young and confident artist, who finds her solace in art. For her, art is all about discovering oneself and experimenting with one’s creativity and simultaneously pushing the boundaries of imagination. With such deep and thoughtful inspiration, she started learning and practising the fusion of arts that led her to the world of folk fusion. She resides in Jharkhand and is still a student, but her love for art is enormous. She has devoted herself to art and constantly strives to create a balance between her studies and art.

And The Workshop Began

The workshop began with a warm and brief introduction of Jashlin. Jashlin, too, greeted and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the attendees. Further, she went on to describe the art form and started demonstrating her artwork. She listed out the materials required and provided some key points that need to be taken care of when performing the art. Jashlin then shed some light on the importance of perfect measurement as it holds an important place in both Mandala and Madhubani art forms. She explained each and every step involved in a detailed manner and the attendees too were quite engrossed in learning and discovering the magic behind the art. The session was full of positive vibes and was very engaging.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

As the workshop progressed towards the end, the attendees were able to create their own art pieces that they presented to Jashlin for feedback, who appreciated the efforts behind them. She also suggested some minute improvements to beautify the works. The attendees were very delighted and impressed by the workshop. They expressed their gratitude towards Jashlin and Rooftop.

The participants were from different parts of the country and belonged to various age groups, but their love and affection for art brought them together on one single platform. Rooftop, as always, became successful in bringing artists from distant places together and celebrating the passion of art, while also creating memories that can be cherished for a long time.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
