Floral Ink Illustration is a creative and aesthetically pleasing art form. In this art form, flowers are engraved with black and white ink. The floral botanicals are also sprung leaf wildflowers. This art form caught the eye of many artists during the pandemic. To make the art form widely popular among the masses, Rooftop conducted a workshop on Floral Ink Illustration with expert artist Mohona Bhadra.
About the Artist
Mohana is a passionate artist and illustrator. She also makes customized earrings with floral designs and attractive cards for various festivals.
The Floral Ink Illustration Workshop Began
The workshop began with an introduction to Mohona and her journey and experiences as an artist. Mohona heartily thanked the hosts of the workshop and welcomed all the participants to create some amazing artwork with her. She began the session by explaining the art form and giving an insight into the artwork they would collectively make during the workshop.
Mohona started with a drawing of a sunflower. She then defined the lines of the flower with a black outliner. After which she began to draw petals and then shaded the sunflower with light and dark shades of ink. For the floral shading, she created dots on the circular part of the outer and inner region of the sunflower.
Towards the End of the Workshop
Mohona continued working on the sunflower. She went from using light to dark shades and finished painting the sunflower. All the attendees co-created their own artwork with Mohona and showcased it at the end of the session. The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The host thanked Mohana for teaching such an interesting art form.
