M-seal is a multi-purpose sealant with 4 main applications – sealing, joining, fixing and building. Its versatility and ease of application makes it commonly used across multiple industry segments, as well as households (DIY) who can use it to mend broken articles, fill gaps, cracks and plug leaks in pipes and joints. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a Exploring M Seal Workshop and invited Rakshita Balai.
Rakshita Balai is currently doing her bachelor’s degree in textile designing from NID Ahmedabad. Other than that her interest lies in contemporary art, painting , handicrafts and photography.
Exploring M Seal Workshop Began
M seal is a kind of material which is heat resistant. Since it’s a chemical compound you cannot use it for your utensils. It’s like clay but not exactly clay. Rakshita explained each and every step in the workshop. She explained about different types of products that can be made out of M Seal. Also, she elaborated about the right method of using M Seal.
She started with the basics of mixing M Seal. Then, she began with mixing and making and explained the whole process in a detailed manner, with insightful tips and techniques.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
At the end of the workshop, most of the attendees had created their beautiful M Seal basket. The attendees were very excited to showcase the basket over the camera. Rakshita appreciated each of the attendee’s baskets and suggested some pattern variations. She also shared other techniques to complete the basket. The experience was very interesting and unique for all the attendees.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
