Dot Mandala Workshop

Mandala in Sanskrit means a circle representing the universe. Dot Mandala is done by painting dots of different sizes to create different patterns. Mandala art helps in reducing stress and boosting the immune system. Dot Mandala assists us in maintaining focus and increasing our concentration ability. To give our Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rooftop curated a Dot Mandala Art Workshop and invited Sanya Bansal.

Sanya Bansal is a mandala artist based in Delhi. She has been into arts since her childhood.

She loves to experiment with different forms of art. Sanya is also a writer and has written a book on mandala art “The Treasure of Mandala”. Art is therapy to her and many others. She has conducted various workshops at such a small age and loves to interact with everyone. She fuses Mandala with various art forms and is a passionate artist.

The Workshop Began 

Sanya began the workshop by talking about her experience. She started the art form by making the grid for the mandala. She showed the measurements to be taken to make a perfect grid .she first showed it on white paper so it would be easy for them to trace it on black paper as the dot mandala was to be made on black paper. After she was done tracing the grid on the black paper she started with the painting that is dot painting you can say on the mandala.

She not only spoke about the colours which could be used for the dot mandala artwork but also showed the dot tools which she was using to make the art. She told about what alternatives could be used in place of dot tools. Using very bright and vibrant colours. Sanya started by painting the mandala with her dot tools. She explained how to make use of the pressure to make the dots perfect, and showed various designs and patterns which could be used to make the mandala look beautiful. She spoke a bit about the book which she wrote.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Towards the end of the To give our Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rooftop curated a Dot Mandala Art Workshop and invited Sanya Bansal., she couldn’t complete the mandala but gave lots of information and briefed all the attendees with various designs and patterns which they could make on their mandala. Further, she even had a look at all the attendees’ mandala and was very happy with everyone’s artwork. The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
