Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Doodling On Coasters Workshop By Malika Aggarwal

Doodles are simple drawings that can have concrete representational meaning or may just be composed of random and abstract lines. This art form is generally done without ever lifting the drawing device from the paper, in which case it is usually called a “scribble”. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special Doodling On Coasters Workshop and invited Malika Aggarwal.

Malika is a self-taught artist hailing from Ludhiana, Punjab. She has been drawing forever and lives for art. It’s always on her mind. She did her master’s and then later pursued a Graphic Design course. Then she started freelancing as an illustrator and has worked on a few projects. Right now she is taking online workshops regarding doodles and has a tie-up with a  few companies.

Doodling On Coasters Workshop Began

The session began with Malika introducing herself and what her work is all about. She spoke about what all will be covered in the session. Malika then started her demonstration by explaining different techniques of drawing shapes. She gave the attendees a lot of facts and history about doodling with respect to coasters especially. All the  attendees paid attention and noted all the key points.

She went to explain the different brands of paints that can be used. After drawing a simple outline, she explains what colours would be best to use. She made sure that she was responding to all queries and questions.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Malika advised the students to not waste any materials while creating art pieces. She even showed the materials that she uses. She even displayed an artwork that she had created before the attendees were very excited to showcase their work. The overall Doodling On Coasters Workshop was very delightful and everyone really enjoyed the experience.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
