Diwali Decorations Workshop With Kinny

Diwali Decoration Workshop With Kinny

Diwali Decorations Workshop: With Diwali around the corner, everyone has indulged themselves in decorating their household for the festive season. To make things easier and more creative, Rooftop curated a Diwali Decorations Workshop and invited Kinny. She is an intuitive artist and she also teaches Mindful Art to children and adults. She is an alumna of J.J. School of Art (Mumbai, India), a Bharat Natyam dancer, and terracotta pottery maker and has also worked in the advertising industry, progressing to become an independent artist to form her own company KIN STUDIO in 2007.

The Diwali Decorations Workshop Began

Since the theme of the workshop was Diwali decorations using dot art, Kinny began the workshop by elaborating on the dot art technique and the dot art tools required. She emphasised the fact that one can create dot art paintings by using any round alternate object like a toothpick, pencil or nail polish cap. She also said that there are no definite rules for this art form and one can easily use their creativity. Kinny shared some useful tips and tricks with our 30 attendees who listened attentively. Taking a coaster size canvas, she then made a circular outline with a compass. Then, using dotting tools of various sizes, she created a dotted pattern following the outline. She also demonstrated the technique of making double dots by using a toothpick.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

The attendees worked along with her and asked for a few suggestions. At the end of the workshop, Kinny added a few details to the dot art. On the attendees request, she also showed a few of her dot art work which mesmerised everyone. The participants displayed their dot art decoration on the camera and gained a lot of praises from Kinny. It was overall a very interactive and interesting session.

All the attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform.

Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

Here’s us signing off untill next time!
