Abstract art has been around for over 100 years. Wassily Kandinsky is named The Father of Abstract art. Modern art was born early in the 20th century and is also known as non-objective art. Abstract art did not develop between World War I & II. In the 1950s, abstract art was accepted and practised in European and American sculpture and painting.

Rooftop conducted a workshop on this nonrepresentational art with Ojal Sharma.

About The Artist

Ojal Sharma is an MBA graduate and has been passionate about art since childhood. She has been practising art for 5 years and exhibited her artwork at a number of Indian galleries.

The Workshop Began

The workshop began with a brief introduction of Ojal and her experience as an artist. Ojal greeted all the participants and advised them to draw an abstract sketch with a pencil using random lines. She drew some lines, squares, and rectangles and continued painting from dark to light shades of grey, black, olive green, and light green red, and advised the attendees to go from dark to light while painting the canvas and concluded the painting with red circles.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

All the attendees played artistically on the canvas and showcased their creativity and brought out their artistic side in their respective canvases. Ojal was delighted and appreciated the efforts of all the participants. Moreover, she also gave them tips to make their artwork better and more attractive.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
