Bottle Painting Workshop: Old glass bottles can be upcycled and turned into incredibly beautiful pieces of art. To teach the Rooftop members more about reusing old bottles, Rooftop curated a Bottle Painting Workshop and invited Snehal Kalpesh. She is a graduate of the commerce field, a software developer by profession and a passionate artist. Started her career as an artist 7 years ago with a group of friends. Her zeal made her learn various mediums of art like porcelain art, coffee painting, quilling and various other art forms. She started her own setup and is thoughtful of flourishing it.
The Bottle Painting Workshop Began
Snehal began the workshop by introducing all the 25 attendees to something called a glass pencil with which the basic outline can be drawn on glass. Then, taking a black glass liner she outlined over the pencil design to give it structure. After drying, Snehal took glass colours and applied them to each block of the design. She filled different blocks of the glass bottle with different colours giving it a very colourful look. Snehal advised all the attendees to keep moving the bottle to and fro so that the colour can mix well.
The curious attendees asked several questions regarding the availability of the glass liner and colors and the process of rectification in case there is a colour spill. Snehal patiently answered all the questions. She demonstrated using glass solvent and an earbud in case of a mistake.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
The attendees worked along with Snehal and created beautiful glass paintings on their old glasses. Some attendees were also ready with fairylights inside the bottles, giving a beautiful and colorful effect. Overall the experience was light hearted and quite colorful and all the attendees had a fun time.
The attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
