Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Art Journaling Workshop By Vanshika Gupta

Art Journalling

An art journal is the same as a written journal, except that it incorporates colours, images, patterns, and other materials. Some art journals have a lot of writing, while others are purely filled with images. It’s a form of creative self-care. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this unique art form, Rooftop curated a special Art Journaling Workshop and invited Vanshika Gupta.

Vanshika Gupta is a Business Economics graduate from Delhi University and has been pursuing art as a passion project since 2018. She started with doodling, zentangles, and mandalas and later on learned lettering and watercolour too.

She always wanted to try Art Journaling and finally started with it in 2020. Her art form includes doodling or painting on one side and lettering a quote on the other. She has done many online workshops and live sessions for Mandala, lettering, and art journaling. She aims to spread positivity through art and make it super easy for everyone!

Art Journaling Workshop Began

The Workshop began with a short introduction of the artist and interaction with the attendees. Vanshika displayed her artwork by showing her art journal. We started with making a circle and four petals around it then Vanshika Gupta showed how to do the detailing in it. Later everyone started filling colours with brush pens to fill the doodle.

Further, she also gave insights about where one can find ample amount of doodle ideas. Later, we moved further from therapeutic doodling to calligraphy in which the attendees learned lettering through brush pens. Brush calligraphy strokes were a great thing that attendees enjoyed and the artist suggested practicing it more to get the perfect strokes.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

All the artists were consumed and were elated by the experience throughout. Artist taught all the types of strokes from ascending to descending. The attendees put up a lot of questions which were all answered by Vanshika. Everyone showcased their beautiful artwork to the artist and the artist was quite impressed to see everyones progress.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. The Rooftop community as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
