Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Aprill’s Contemporary Art Workshop With Varsha Panwar

Aprill's contemporary art

“There is more than what meets the eye”- this says it all about Contemporary Art. Literally meaning “The art of today” is a form that doesn’t adhere to uniformity. The art works mainly produced in 20th & 21st centuries poses varied approaches and outcomes. A medium used by the artists to express themselves openly. It’s a rarity to find two viewers having a single point of view about a contemporary artwork. This genre of art is a reflection of the artist, they may address a socio-political trend, religion or even their own culture. What makes this school of art interesting is, that it’s ever-evolving and diverse.

To bring art lovers closer to the beauty of abstract art, the Rooftop organized an exciting workshop and invited expert artist Varsha Panwar to conduct it.

About The Artist

Varsha Panwar is an ardent art devotee and loves to spend time with brush and paints. She is a graphic designer by profession, an illustrator, and a celebrated contemporary artist who’s showcased her works in many parts of the globe. She is always inventing herself and evolving her talent and affection for contemporary art.

And The Workshop Began

The workshop began with a brief but amazing introduction of the artist. Varsha then greeted and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the attendees. She went on to describe the significance and methods for drawing a contemporary art piece and explained the fact that it doesn’t have any set of rules and is based on one’s imagination. Varsha explained each step involved in the process in a very detailed manner, which made the grasping part a lot easier for the attendees. She also shed some light on the specifications of colours and brushes involved in the artwork.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

As we progressed towards the end of the workshop, the attendees were able to make their abstract pieces and display them on the screen for feedback from Varsha, who found all those works very beautiful. Varsha then showcased some of her previous works to provide a better understanding of the art form. The session ended with the attendees expressing their gratitude as well as appreciating both Varsha and the Rooftop community.

The participants were from different parts of the world and India. They also belonged to various age groups but were united by their passion and affection for art, which eventually brought them all together on a single platform. Rooftop, as always, was able to curate and create memories that could be cherished for a lifetime.

On that note, here’s us signing off until next time!
