Rooftop – Where India Inspires Creativity

Acrylic Painting Workshop With Ridhima Saini

Acrylic Painting Workshop

Acrylic Painting Workshop: Acrylic painting is a style that is a fast-drying method of painting. Acrylic paints are water-soluble but become water-resistant while dry. This very aspect allows a lot of variations and gives freedom to the artist. To explain this painting style, Rooftop curated an Acrylic Painting Workshop and invited Ridhima Saini, who is a self-taught artist based in Jaipur. She is an engineer by profession who loves to be connected to art.

The Acrylic Painting Workshop Began

Ridhima began the experience by explaining the basics of acrylic painting and the materials required. She asked the attendees to put masking tape around the paper to give it a neater look. Riddhima drew the basic outline of the painting using just three lines and went on to add colours to it. Using different shades of blue, Ridhima gradually drew a seascape. She blended dark and light colours to create a more realistic painting of a sea.

The participants raised several questions regarding the different shades used as well as the blending technique. Ridhima answered all their queries while adding details to the painting. All 25 participants worked along with her and quickly grasped the technique she showed.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Towards the end of the workshop, Ridhima also patiently taught a fan brush technique to give an additional effect to the waves, adding more depth to the painting. Layer after layer the painting turned out to look so real that it almost gave a real seaside feel to the attendees.

At the end of the workshop, all the attendees were excited to show their work to Riddhima. She appreciated everyone’s artwork and suggested some tweaks that could help to refine the artwork more. The attendees were from different parts of the country and belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform.

Rooftop as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, here’s us signing off until next time!
