Line Art is described as the art of creating illustrations using basic strokes of different weights and angles that show form and depth. This art focuses only on lines. The history of line art goes back 75,000 years. The first line art drawing is said to be found in South Africa and is 73,000 years old.
To spread awareness about this unique art form, The Rooftop Community collaborated with artist Anu Bhargavi Sreenivasan for a fun and engaging workshop.
About the Artist
Anu is a banker by profession and an artist by passion. She began her journey of art by watching YouTube videos. She was inclined towards art due to the pressure and workload she went through on the work front. Sreenivasan tried her hands on different art forms and also learned about digital marketing. She now showcases her artwork on Instagram.
The Workshop began
The workshop started off with an introduction of Anu and her foray into the world of art. She welcomed the attendees and expressed her gratitude towards them. She gave an insight into her inspiring journey and explained the background of the art form.
Anu showed her artwork to all the participants, recommended pens for the line art, and answered the questions of the participants. She first drew a rectangle, leaves of various shapes and designs, then outlined the borders of the leaves. She then coloured the leaves in shades of pink, blue, red, orange, green, light blue, and navy blue.
Towards the end of the workshop
Towards the end of the workshops, all the participants showcased their own line artworks, which received sincere appreciation from Anu. The attendees thanked Anu for teaching them such a unique art form and providing valuable tips and tricks. The workshop ended on a happy and positive note.
The attendees were from different parts of India and belonged to various age groups, but their love for art brought them together on one platform. Rooftop, as always, was able to bring artists together and celebrate their passion for art.
On that note, here’s us signing off until next time.
