Acrylic Sunset Workshop With Varshini Raaj

Acrylic Sunset Workshop With varshini Raj

The most beautiful phase of any day is the sunset. Acrylic art gives an amazing medium for painting mesmerising sunsets. It gives a relaxing sensation and is soothing to the eyes. To create such an artwork, Rooftop conducted a workshop with Varshini Raaj.

About The Artist

Varshini Raaj claims to just be an artist who paints her way through life. She considers being an artist as not just work but a way of life. Her constant source of inspiration has been her life experiences. Art has been her source of peace and each art piece is a way of telling stories. Her art has a wide spectrum ranging from natural, abstract to fluid art.

The Workshop Began

To begin with, Varshini started with the most overpowering colour of a sunset, orange. She used a flat brush to paint even strokes starting from the top of the canvas. She recommended using only a bit of water to smoothen the colour throughout. Later she used yellow and blended it below the orange shade. To blend, she made use of white colour as it does wonder to give a perfect blend.

The final colour she used on the bottom half of the canvas was pink. She mixed these different shades to give an ideal sunset look. Moving ahead, she used white colour and dabbed it gently to form cloud-shaped patterns. She suggested how different colours like purple or blue could be used to give the clouds a more dramatic feel. Finally, she drew a crescent and sprinkled white paint all across to paint stars.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

The painting was esthetically pleasing and had many details that worked well to create a perfect sunset. All the attendees made sure to follow through and did an excellent job fabricating this artwork.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.

On this note, hereā€™s us signing off until next time!
