Mandalas, meaning “circles” in Sanskrit, are sacred symbols that are used for meditation, prayer, healing, and art therapy for both adults and children. Mandalas are one of the art form which boosts the immune system, reduce stress and pain as studied and proved by researchers. To give our Circle Members the experience to learn and enlighten themselves about this traditional art form, Rajasthan Studio curated a special Mandala Workshop and invited Mahak Agarwal.
She’s an undergraduate student and currently in her second year, studying BMS from NAEMD Institute, Mumbai. Her course of specialisation is in Event Management & PR. Apart from this, she has a keen interest in playing with colours, creating designs, and trying different fonts. She believes in trying new things without losing the edge of responsible handling of activities.
Mandala Workshop Began
The Mandala Workshop began with a short introduction of the artist. Mahak starts with giving insights on the materials that are useful for the artwork. Moving further, we started making circles as we make in the mandala and she explained how to make long petals and pointed petals. Along with Explaining she gave accurate measurements.
The designs and patterns were eye catching and full of small details. We started creating unique designs and patterns for the circle grids. Later, after a lot of detailing artist used a black pen for filling up the grids and completes the artwork with great colour contrast.
Towards The End Of The Workshop
All the artists were immersed in the Mandala Workshop from the very beginning. The attendees seemed immersed in the workshop and also experimenting with the artwork. The artist preferred free-hand drawing. The workshop ended with everyone showcasing their artwork including a nine-year-old artist who created a great mandala art piece. designs.
The attendees were from different parts of the country. Also, they belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rajasthan studio as always was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
