Whenever we use the words “we,” “us” or “Rooftop App,” we are referring to Rooftop, and our parent company Slo Mo Experiences Private Limited. Whenever we use the words “our website,” we are referring to https://rooftopapp.com/ and when we use the words ‘our app,’ we refer to the app on all the available platforms which can be downloaded from the following link: rooftopapp.page.link/get_app_now.

The term ‘User’ or ‘Art Lover’ refers to all the potential, existing users including artists that are using or have used the Rooftop app at any given point in time. The term ‘Art Instructor’ or ‘Art Specialist’ refers to the teachers/mentors/affiliates in partnership with Rooftop that host virtual art workshops. The term ‘Art Pundits’ refer to those teachers/mentors/affiliates with whom Rooftop has produced Maestro Courses – a set of recorded content for learning traditional Indian art forms.

1. Consent

When you submit Personal Information or log in to the Rooftop app, either through our website, application, or by other avenues, it means that you have agreed to this Privacy Policy and that you expressly consent to the use of your Personal Information by Rooftop, by its parent company Slo Mo Experiences Private Limited, and its other verticals according to this Policy.

2. What Data We Get

We collect certain data from you directly, like the information you enter yourself, data about your consumption of content, and data from third-party platforms you will be connecting with Rooftop (if applicable). We also collect some data automatically, like information about your device and what parts of our Services you interact with or spend time using. All data listed in this section is subject to the following processing activities: collecting, recording, structuring, storing, altering, retrieving, encrypting, pseudonymizing, erasing, combining, and transmitting.

2.1 Data You Voluntarily Provide Us

At the time of Login:

Personal Data which includes but is not limited to:

• In order to use certain features (like accessing content), you need to create a user account, which requires us to collect and store your email address, password, and account settings. To create an instructor account, we collect and store your name, email address, password, and account settings.
• Phone Number: We collect your phone number for account verification, to provide support, and for notifications related to the Services.

Account Data Rooftop App does not collect your personal data at the time of downloading the app. Only when you log in/sign up, is the data you provide collected. This includes:

• First and last name
• Date of birth
• Gender
• Phone Number
• Email Address
• Billing/banking information including credit/debit card number (Auto debit of the payment, not next payment duration)
• Characteristic information about your mood and interests

Profile Data

• Photo
• Headline
• Biography
• Language
• Website link
• Social media profiles
• Country, or other data

Shared Content Parts of the Services let you interact with other users or share content publicly, including your badges and rewards (in-app feature), course certification, posting reviews about content, asking or answering questions, sending messages to students or instructors, or posting photos of artwork you upload. Such shared content may be publicly viewable by others depending on where it is posted.

Learning Data

• Virtual Art Workshops attended
• Maestro Courses you buy
• Assignments and assessments
• Type of content consumed by you on the app that includes Did You Knows, Blogs, News, Trends, and others.
• News and Trends
• Content and subscription purchases and credits
• Subscriptions
• Completion certificates
• All and any exchanges with art specialists and other art lovers
• Content submitted to suffice course requirements

Art Lover’s Payment Data

• First and Last Name
• Billing address
• ZIP code as necessary to process your order and which may optionally be saved to process future orders.

Instructor Explicit Data If you partner with Rooftop as an art instructor, we collect your personal data and relevant information upon your consent which includes but is not limited to questions mentioned in this form.

Instructor Payment Data If you are an instructor, you can link your payment account to the Services to receive payments. When you link a payment account, we collect and use certain information, including:

• Payment account email address
• Account ID
• Physical address, or other data necessary for us to send payments to your account.

Data About Your Accounts on Other Services We may obtain certain information through your social media or other online accounts if they are connected to your Rooftop account, including but not limited to:

• First and Last Name
• Profile picture
• Account ID number
• Login email address
• Location
• Physical location of your access devices
• Gender
• Birth Date
• List of friends or contacts
• If you access or use our Services through a third-party platform or service, or click on any third-party links, the collection, use, and sharing of your data will also be subject to the privacy policies and other agreements of that third party.

Communications and Support When you call, email, or chat with our customer service, we may collect all or some of the following:

• First and Last Name
• Email address
• Postal address (shipping address and billing address)
• Mobile and Telephone number(s)
• Debit or credit card information (number, type of card [Visa, MasterCard, etc.] and expiration date, order number, merchandise to be purchased, other information that you provide during the interaction)

2.3 Data From Third Parties If you register for or log into the Rooftop App using another service, we’ll receive your information from them to help create your account with us.

Third-Party Applications, Services, and Devices You Connect to Your Rooftop Account (if applicable) These third-party apps, services, or devices may include:

• Social media
• Devices including:
  • Audio (e.g. speakers and headphones)
  • Televisions
  • Mobile phones and tablets We’ll ask your permission before we collect your information from certain third parties.

Payment Partners and Merchants If you choose to pay through third parties (Paytm, Razorpay, etc.) or by invoice, we may get data from our payment partners. This allows us to:

• Send you invoices
• Process your payment
• Give you what you’ve purchased

Advertising and Marketing Partners From certain advertising or marketing partners, we receive inferences (i.e., their understanding) of your interests and preferences. This allows us to deliver more relevant ads and marketing.

If you download the Rooftop mobile app and try using a logged-out user experience, we will collect limited information about your usage of the Rooftop Service, including Usage Data. We do this to understand how you are accessing and using the Service. We also do this to ensure we provide the right experience for you.

3. What We Use Your Data For

We use your data to provide, support, personalize, and develop our Services. Here are some specific examples of how we use the data we collect:

• To process and complete transactions
• To send you related information, including purchase confirmations and invoices

With our Art Specialists: We share your data with art specialists who may use the data to better tailor their services to you.

With Other Art Lovers: If you interact with other users or share content publicly through the Services, some of your data will be visible to other users.

With Service Providers, Contractors, and Agents: We share your data with third-party companies who perform services on our behalf, including but not limited to data analysis, marketing and advertising services (including retargeted advertising), email, and hosting services. These service providers may access your personal data and are required to use it solely as we direct, to provide our requested service.

With Rooftop Affiliates: We may share your data with our parent company, Slo Mo Experiences Private Limited, and others that are related by common ownership or control to enable or support us in providing the Services.

With Credit-Granting Organizations for Continuing Education: If you take a maestro course for certification, we may share that information upon the request of the organization granting the continuing education credit.

For Advertising: If we decide to use an advertising-supported revenue model in the future, we may use and share certain System Data and Usage Data with third-party advertisers and networks to show general demographic and preference information among our users.

For Security and Legal Compliance: We may disclose your data (all data categories) to third parties if we (in our sole discretion) have a good faith belief that the disclosure is:

• Requested as part of a judicial, governmental, or legal inquiry, order, or proceeding;
• Reasonably necessary as part of a valid subpoena, warrant, or other legally-valid request;
• Reasonably necessary to enforce our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and other legal agreements;

To Our Auditors and Legal Advisors: We may disclose data about you to our auditors and legal advisors in order to assess our disclosure obligations and rights under this Privacy Policy, or required or permitted by law.

With Delivery Partners: To fulfill your orders, we share your name, phone number, and address with our delivery partners. This information is used solely for the purpose of delivering your purchased items.

5. Security

We use a variety of security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These measures include encryption, access controls, and secure servers.

6. Your Rights

Email Settings (Opt out of notifications): Note that regardless of your email preference settings, we will send you transactional and relationship messages regarding the Services, including administrative confirmations, order confirmations, important updates about the Services, and notices about our policies.

Device Settings for In-App Advertising: Apple iOS, Android OS, and Microsoft Windows each provide their own instructions on how to control in-app tailored advertising. For other devices and operating systems, you should review your privacy settings on that platform.

6.1 Accessing, Updating, and Deleting Your Personal Data You can access and update your personal data that Rooftop collects and maintains as follows:

• To update data you provide directly, log into your account and update your account at any time.
• To terminate your account:
  • For Users: Please note that by closing your Rooftop account you will lose access to all the courses you’ve enrolled in, including purchased courses.
  • For Instructors: Rooftop Account/Profile of instructor on Rooftop application, website, or Landing Page will only be terminated by the Rooftop Team.

Please note: Even after your account is terminated, some or all of your data may still be visible to others, including without limitation any data that has been (a) copied, stored, or disseminated by other users (including comments on content); (b) shared or disseminated by you or others (including in your shared content); or (c) posted to a third-party platform. Even after your account is terminated, we retain your data for as long as we have a legitimate purpose to do so (and in accordance with applicable law), including to assist with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We may retain and disclose such data pursuant to this Privacy Policy after your account has been terminated.

6.2 Children’s Privacy Policy We recognize the privacy interests of children and encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s online activities and interests. Individuals younger than 18 years of age, but of the required age for consent to use online services where they live, may not set up an account but may have a parent or guardian open an account and help them access appropriate content. Individuals younger than the required age for consent to use online services may not use the Services. If we learn that we’ve collected personal data from a child under those ages, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

If we make any material change to it, we will notify you via email, through a notification posted on the Services, or as required by applicable law. We will also include a summary of the key changes. Unless stated otherwise, modifications will become effective on the day they are posted.

As permitted by applicable law, if you continue to use the Services after the effective date of any change, then your access and/or use will be deemed an acceptance of (and agreement to follow and be bound by) the revised Privacy Policy. The revised Privacy Policy supersedes all previous Privacy Policies.
