Art has the ability to express one’s emotions, thoughts and inner feelings. A lot of art forms express the feelings one has in their subconscious mind. Art can create emotions which bring out various feelings one has for an art form.

To explore the power of art, The Rooftop community organized An Eye For An Eye Workshop with expert artist Sai Kemkar.

About The Artist

Sai Kemkar is a video film and communication student. She has been passionate about dance since she was 8 years old. She now finds home in art and has an older brother who himself is an artist.

The Workshop Began

The workshop began with an introduction of Sai and her journey as an artist. Sai greeted all the participants, shared her artwork and introduced herself. She expressed her feelings and thoughts in this session regarding emotions and talking about mental health. She expressed her story of being belittled and brought down as a young teenager and shared how art teaches one to confront themselves and their emotions. She explained how to feel one’s emotions through brush strokes and colours.

Towards The End Of The Workshop

Sai showcased some of her previous artworks and motivated everyone to create art with her. It was quite impactful and vocal. It spoke a lot as an art form. Two of the participants shared their thoughts regarding the art form they learned in the session. The host thanked the artist and gave a shout out to her and her artwork.

The attendees were from different parts of the country. They also belonged to different age groups but their love for art brought them together on a single platform. Rooftop community, as always, was successful in connecting artists and curating a magical and positive vibe together.
