Held annually in Panaji, Goa the Serendipity Arts Festival was inaugurated by Goa CM Mr Pramod Sawant on 15th December 2022. The eight-day festival, one of the largest in South Asia, is usually held in the month of December. This year the festival will run from the 15th to the 22nd of December.

It was founded in 2016 by noted industrialist Sunil Kant Munjal, chairman of Hero Enterprise. The festival is unique in the sense that it is the only arts festival in India which includes a showcase of multi-disciplinary fields including visual arts, theatre, both classical and western dance and music, literature, a wide variety of cuisines and handicrafts.

Details about the Serendipity Arts Festival

The responsibility of organizing the festival lies with the non-profit Serendipity Arts Foundation and admission to the event is free for visitors of all age groups. Every edition of the festival attracts lakhs of visitors and is meticulously curated by established names in their particular fields. In the past, well-known experts including Jyotindra Jain (Visual Arts), Sudarshan Shetty (Visual arts), Chef Rahul Akerkar (Culinary), Mayuri Upadhya (Dance), and Sneha Khanwalkar (Music).

The festival will also feature lunches featuring assorted tribal cuisines of the host state of Goa, dishes from the Meitei community of Manipur. An exhibition of ‘missing vegetables’, a sanna-making workshop and so much more.

The festival features various visitor engagement programmes. The list of programmes includes workshops, art exhibitions and live performances by well-known artists. Besides its flagship programme the Serendipity Festival, showcases artist projects, publications and excerpts from the year-round programmes run by the parent Foundation.
